“Fina’s Theme” Video and Sheet Music, from Skies of Arcadia

A long time ago, I received a request to play “Fina’s Theme” from Skies of Arcadia. I’d never heard it before, but upon first listen, I absolutely loved it and wanted to cover it someday. This was fun to arrange and I took a lot of creative liberties with it, even composing my own melody at 1:21. Hope you enjoy!

  1. Great job! You play amazingly, wish I was as good. Aivi - DO NOT QUIT. People older than myself tell me this all the time. I'm fourteen. Not that I would ever DREAM of quitting - I love piano too much. All my video game-freakish friends cannot believe I can play SMG music. It's fun to get praised.... ^.^

  2. I really like this song from FFXII I think it's called Leberi Fatali. I know it's mostly voices but I was wondering if you could make an arrangement something like it!!!! Thanks

  3. Nice. I like it. Never played Skies of Arcadia myself, although everybody I know tells me to do so. Hell, College is killing me >_<

Anyway, nice arrangement, quite difficult to make it sound "right" from 1:00 to 1:35 (more or less) on piano. I think you could done that part even better, but that take was great already.

Thank you for this video, Aivi! 8D

  4. @Jordan - Glad to hear that you have no plans to quit! It is pretty fun to show off game tunes, isn't it? ;) I quit piano lessons a few times when I was younger, though I always came back to it. It's too late for me to quit now; music is my life force (and also my job.)

@MP - This piece is from Skies of Arcadia, as the post title says. I do like Liberi Fatali a lot, but unfortunately I have a lot of other songs on my to-do list right now! Thanks for the suggestion, though!

@Knoll - Oh, college is certainly time-consuming. No time to sit down and enjoy a nice long RPG. (In my case, no time to start a YouTube channel until AFTER graduation.) I'm pleased with the actual arrangement of Fina's Theme, but I agree that this isn't my best performance; however, it was either sacrificing minor details and doing a video now, or waiting another few months to memorize it and practice it to perfection, so... :)

  6. Don't worry Aivi, we don't care about little things like that =) You're amazing anyway.

CAN'T wait for Super Mario Galaxy 2 and your arrangement of Gusty Garden! :)

  7. Hey Aivi! I've been following your blog for a while now, trying to pick up some tips for playing piano, so one day I can get to be as natural with the piano as you are. I'm sixteen, and have been (sorta) playing piano for about ten months now. I've been playing mostly by ear, but now I'm trying to move on to sheet music. I know how to read it, and like yours my piano can show me what notes correspond with what keys.... but i was wondering, do you have any tips for a young aspiring pianist like me? I'd really appreciate it.

  8. You're such a wonderful pianist. I've watched all of your videos, and have most of your arrangements. :P You single-handedly caused me to love playing piano again, and I will be forever grateful for it.

    Yet another wonderful arrangement. =)

  9. Wonderful! I've never even heard of this game before but I'm going to learn this! But question. Do you accept friend requests via youtube. Cause I it doesn't say your friends on your channel. And I sent one and was never accepted. Just wondering.

  11. Aivi - tomorrow's Super Mario Galaxy 2. Been listening to the tracks on YouTube - perhaps not as...epic as SMG, but some cool stuff. One of the galaxies (Throwback) is a remix of "Bob-omb Battlefield" from Super Mario 64.

Looks like the game comes with a free dose of nostalgia. ^.^

  12. I've never heard of Skies of Arcadia, but this arrangement is great! I'm so excited that Mario Galaxy 2 is coming out soon. I hope that you have plans to arrange some songs from it. I heard some tracks on Youtube and think that the Sky Station Galaxy and Fluffy Buff Galaxy are the best ones so far *wink, wink, nudge, nudge* :)

  13. Already got Mario Galaxy 2 - IT. IS. EPIC.

I think I'm going so far as to request an arrangement: "Bowser Jr.'s Fiery Flotilla"

    Here's the song:

  14. Okay, Aivi, you have time to make a video on Youtube a couple days ago but not update this blog? Aargh, I feel like you're ignoring it! Is that weird?

  16. Hello Aivi! I wasn't sure where exactly to put this comment , so I'll just put it here. You play extremely amazingly extraordinarily stupendous(ly) well, as everyone knows.

Listen to 'Snowman' from Earthbound on the SNES. It's such a peaceful tune... please consider it (nobody would have heard of it anyway).

  17. This is unrelated but after the video I found a cover for Super Mario Galaxy 2! ... Do you have any other 'secret' songs?!

  18. Absolutely amazing! I honestly had, at one moment, the impulse to (as disgusting as it sounds) vomit from the beauty of the music wrapping itself around me. So beautiful (both the piece and you), thank you, and well done.

  19. Aivi, you should do weekly or at least every two weeks updates here... I keep checking back and I don't want a repeat of what happened last year... no updates from November to April.

I really like this blog. :(

Even if it's not sheet music related at all.
