Reason For My Treason: Blood Knight

Hi everyone! I wanted to apologize for my silence over the past few months – I promise I haven’t left you all. I’ve been a little swamped by life’s happenings and musical projects, and it’s been quite exciting around here!

Since December, I’ve been working on the music team for an upcoming game called Blood Knight, an epic RPG for the iPhone being developed by iPwn Studios. My partner in crime is my good friend Stuart Nishiyama, along with other talented musicians who contribute and keep us in check. It’s been an interesting experience so far – sometimes smooth, sometimes extremely stressful when there are aesthetic disagreements and tight constraints over our creative liberty. But this soundtrack is turning out to be cool, and I have no doubt that everyone’s hard work will pay off.

So I’m still around, and I’ll post new covers to YouTube as soon as I get a chance to practice and record them. There are a lot of great videogame tunes on my queue and I hope you’ll all enjoy what's to come, when it comes. Thanks for all of your patience and support and see you soon! ♥

(Side note: I’ve been trying to be more active on Twitter, so feel free to get in touch if you want to say hi or see what ol’ me has been up to.)

  6. Jordan - Let's see... I've written 5 pages of sheet music for Gusty Garden, but the arrangement still isn't finished so I haven't practiced it at all! For time's sake, when I'm done with it, I might record the video in sections so that it takes pressure off of me to play it perfectly in one take (since that usually takes me several months of practice.)

  9. Also on your website under Piano works. Who are the composers to the Prelude, Waltz and the Postlude? Is the Nocturne by Chopin and the Gymnopedie by Erik Satie?

    Thanks!!

  11. Aivi - I know it sounds like you're busy with the Gusty Garden arrangement...
    But - don't kill me - I have a request.
Actually - again, don't kill me - I have two.

Do you think you could arrange the HoneyHive and Ghostly Galaxies?

I was listening to the tracks on YouTube a second ago and I really love them. The upbeat, springtime music of HoneyHive just makes me smile happily, and the Boos' waltz gives me chills. If you have time, could you at least reply to me?
Even if you can't, I'd still like to know.

    Thanks!

  12. Hi Jordan - I'd like to play a lot (if not all) SMG tunes eventually, though they do take awhile to prepare and I'm trying to focus on pieces on my list for now. Thanks for your song suggestions, though! They're always appreciated.

  15. If you don't mind my asking, I was just curious how you got into actually writing the music for a game? It's kind of like my fantasy; too bad I don't have any musical training. :P Might make an interesting blog post! ;)

What do you think? Haha, as a middle school kid you've inspired me into composing music. I've been music doodling for a long while now. You can view this on your own time though.

You must post the music on this blog as soon as you can. I cannot wait to hear it. Good luck. :)
