  7. Hi, congratulations on such an amazing body of work! I've spent a long time looking at your site. I just tried to download the PDF for To The Galaxy and it did not work. Could you please confirm it's working correctly? Thank you.

  8. @Anonymous - I love Joe Hisaishi! One of these days, I should try to arrange a Studio Ghibli set.

@AJ - Thank you! The file is working for me, so let me know if it continues to give you trouble. (Is it just this file or several of them?)

  9. Thanks for taking the time to post this- I was just about to start trying to figure it out myself by ear!

I've never seen one of your videos before, but it's clear from this simple one that you certainly have a lot of talent- good luck to you.

  12. OMG. That is literally the BEST piano playing I've ever heard. I've been wanting to play that song for SOOOOOO long, but I just can't get it right. You are VERY talented. :)

  14. Even though this piece sounds very simple..it is one of my favorites. It's simplicity and peacefullness is what makes it unique from the rest of songs in the game. I play saxophone(s), clarinet, and flute. I've been playing your music on those instruments and the melodies still sound great. I want to play piano so badly so i can play both parts (treble and bass)of the song. I want to learn piano and oboe next. The hardest thing for me is playing a different rythm on each hand. I can't wait until you post new music. (Advice for playing piano would be helpful)

  16. its sooooo much easier (no offence) if you transcribe it into D flat.... the notes stay the same, but its so much easier to read with only 5 flats

  17. @Anonymous - No offense taken! It's true, it's much easier to read in Db. My reasons were more theoretical than practical: the second half of the piece modulates to E major (4 sharps) and E is related to C#, so it made sense to me. E maj isn't related to Db (unless I wrote E as "Fb" which is also annoying to read) and I didn't want to deal with enharmonics, so it just seemed cleaner to write everything C# than Db. For practical purposes I probably should've started in Db and just changed the key signature to E for the second half (but for some people, switching between sharps and flats is also disorienting). There are a lot of ways to interpret a piece, and when I transcribe things I try to consider not only what's convenient to read and play, but what's the relationship between the notes and how do they function in the overall structure of the piece. Again though, it's all interpretation - only the composer knows how it's supposed to go. I'm sure there's one in Db out there on the internet, though!

You inspired me even more to become better and create more piano videos. (I already have a couple on youtube) I hope I can be like you and I think your playing is BEAUTIFUL. Keep up the good work, and don't EVER waste your talent! I am currently learning the Good Egg Galaxy sheet music myself...it's pretty hard xD

  25. When are you going to post the main theme of SMG Piano Collectoions?(I felt like saying that because of FFX Piano Collections)Please, it says at the end of the video, "aivitran.com". I can't find it. Is it in your musical sketches> I will go check that. Tell me where is it soon...

  26. Whuzzup, Aivi?

Is your name pronounced as "Ayy-veye"? or "Ayy-vee" or "I-vee"? Just asking.

Anyway, did you post the To the Gateway and Buoy Base Galaxy covers on March, 26th, 2009? In your blog, it says that the To the Gateway theme is posted on YouTube on March 27th and Buoy Base Galaxy is on the 26th. But in your YouTube Channel (which I like) says that the To the Gateway theme is posted on March 26th, 2009 while Buoy Base Galaxy is posted on March 26th, 2009. I am just wondering which site says the right date. So, is the To the Gateway (Piano Solo) posted on the 26th or the 27th of Macrh. I would appreciate very much if you answer my questions...
